Join CATP at the 4th Annual Charity Hockey Classic

Come on out to the Kettler Capitals Iceplex atop the Ballston mall on September 9th, watch hockey for a great cause, and say hi to one of the writers for your favorite British founded Caps themed hockey blog!

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Tickets are $10 and admission is free for children.  All proceeds and donations from the event go to Inova Blood Donor Services, which tests and provides blood and blood products to hospitals and medical centers throughout the DC area.

Four teams will all compete in a round-robin, and each team will have a special guest coach from the Mike O'Meara show.

The Teams:

The Fairfax County Police:

A team full of buddy cops from Fairfax, VA.  They will be coached by school machine salesman and Cross Fit extraordinaire Oscar "Chow-Chow" Santana.

The Virginia Coaching Cardinals:

A scrappy team of youth hockey coaches from Virginia.  They will feature guest coach and Sylvania Lightbulb enthusiast Buzz Burbank.

The Booz Allen Minutemen:

Lawyers--I don't have anything funny for that one, but they are being coached by VCU's most famous alum, Robb "With Two B's" Spewak.

The Washington Capitals' Alumni and Front Office:

It's a team of former Caps and people in the Caps' front office, like the best emergency back-up goalie in the NHL, Brett Leonhardt.  The Caps Alumni team will be coached by the man with a cadaver's knee, Mike O'Meara.

You can donate now for your favorite team, players, or coaches or just make a general donation by clicking on the icon below.  Please give whatever you can, and come on out to cheer on the teams and help the cause!
