If Hockey Were A 40 Minute Game: Caps Lose 3-2 in Ottawa
After a big win on Sunday against the Sabres, the Capitals looked to keep it going last night in Ottawa. The Senators came into the game with a 3-1-1 record including wins over Winnipeg and Florida (twice) and losses to Tampa and Pittsburgh (shootout). The goalie matchup posed to be a good one with Michal Neuvirth coming off his (and the Caps) first win of the season and Craig Anderson playing solid hockey between the pipes for Ottawa.

Keep The Good Times Rolling
Although the Ottawa Senators may look better than the Capitals tonight in their retro uniforms and they have the advantage of the home crowd, the Caps must build off their 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres at the Phone Booth.
Since taking over for Braden Holtby, Michael Neuvirth has been playing great. His 2.92 GAA and his .889 Save Percentage has been a huge reason the Capitals were able to grab a point from a then undefeated New Jersey Devils on the road and a big two points at home against the Sabres on Sunday.

Caps Lose 4-1 to Habs, Still Pointless Three Games In
The Caps look for answers. Photo Credit: ESPN |
So, the Caps lost for the third time in a row, this time to the Montreal Canadiens. It wasn't a performance to shout about, either. As a consequence, the Caps are now in the basement of the standings, fairly worrying considering the playoffs are only four months away. Here's a terrifying stat - in the last shortened season, no team with a three game losing streak failed to even MAKE the playoffs. More below:

Washington Capitals vs Les Habitants
Its been a rough start to the shortened season so far for the Washington Capitals. The Capitals have been outscored 10-5 thus far and the penalty kill is, well, horrendous as they have only killed 7 of 12 penalties on the season so far, albeit, only 2 games in.
Let us not panic, Capitals faithful, as this ship can be turned in the right direction with a much needed win at home.

Home Opener Heartbreak: Caps lose to Jets 4-2
The title says it all. The Capitals lost to Jets 4-2 in their season home opener at the Verizon Center last night. Besides the first 10 minutes of the first period, it was really hard game to watch. But before I get too in depth with my analysis, let me break down the game.
